Those plain wires look way better than my snazzy colour-coded ones. Oh wait, I better keep those on ...
I told you, that ol Wees is the best. She needs to come mind-meld with my jeep!

So, she spinning a little better with the grounds cleaned. Found a loose wire (primary? The small one) between the dizzy and coil. I thought it was a eureka moment.
nope. She wants to, but just won't cut it. Either I'm out of shape, or she feels a little harder to roll over with the hand crank, too.
i double checked the flywheel marks and they look pretty darn good compared to when the points open and spark ignites. Spark at plugs even looks white now, albeit it isn't huge.
i never got to the tractor store to buy new wires. Everyone is evacuating and traffic is beastly.

C'mon...I'm running short on time, but it's not because of the hurricane. I go back to work tomorrow. I'd just rest easier if the beast of a jeep would run.
i just shocked myself again out. I def have a spark. It's white/blue. However...the coil wire from the cap...held an 1/8" away from a ground and gave a spark...but it didn't seem very big! Nor did the shock give me any more gray hairs!
do I have a crappy condenser again? The odds....no way.

Be careful with tractor supply, it's another Chi-Com outlet store!..... NAPA, order them and they will have them at the warehouse.

I've always went to NAPA and bought solid core wire by the foot, terminals, and boots.

I've always went to NAPA and bought solid core wire by the foot, terminals, and boots. They have a kit that comes with all the fixings, and if you get the V8 kit you have enough fixings for two!. Lee

So are we all just going with assessment that the current ignition wires are losing my spark, thus making it puny? Would that also be the case for lame spark off of the coil/distributor wire? I've got a good colored spark now, just not big.
And nobody is concerned that I think my engine feels a little tougher to turn over by hand? The wooden golf clubs have made me weaker?

Quit screwing around, buy two and do four! Or in the case of Oily's herd...... Buy twenty and do forty!!! Then throw in a gross of spark plugs at tune up time!!!
Yes, if the wires are cracked, they are at the end of there life. If that doesn't work, I just don't see 5 or so condensers being bad in a row.... Me thinks something else is going on..... I don't know what, but we'll figger 'er out! But first and foremost.... You, Jeffers and the rest of the right coasties be safe!!!!

Tow start it with new wires, and then adjust the timing with a light. If you are off a little in timing they are hard to start. Oilly
