I have purchased a 1952 cj3a that has a solex carb. From what I read it should have a carter 636sa. Can you help me out with a rebuilt carb or a rebuild able carb? Thanks for any help.

Rick,
This is Chris McMahan. I had talked to you a few months ago about getting you to rebuild my carter w/O 636sa carb. I wound up finding another hobart welder exactly like the one I already had. Both welders are 250a mainliners that have the willys flat head 4 cylinder motors. I sent both carbs to you to hopefully be able to have one nice rebuild but if you can make both functional then we will go that route. I sent both carbs to you by USPS priority mail and one master rebuild kit from willys overland. The first welder the man that owned it noticed gas pouring out of it. I don't think he knew the needle and seat were stuck. He tried rebuilding but just had more problems he wasn't the most intelligent person but he tried and he was 76. I opened it up all jets were stuck in varnish. It reaked of old fuel. The crabs need to be tuned to operate there best at 1800 rpm that speed lets the welder achieve the 60hz it needs to operate at peak performance. The other carb that still has the tag on it I've never heard run and has been sitting for years. Just do the best you can with them some of the linkage will need some work. If you think you can make two perfect rebuild w/o's go for it if there is enough to get one real nice one then perfect. If you have some spare parts that mine will need i will by those from you also. I know you get 125.00 for a basic rebuild - 10% for me being former NCSHP I appriciate that to by the way. I couldn't think of a better person to build my carb or carbs ive watched all your videos its very impressive. See what you can do with what you get today in the mail. Figure up what I would owe you for one for sure and 2 if you think you can do both. I know is have to buy a rebuild master kit from you also plus any small parts. My cell is 828-508-7714. My home address is Chris McMahan 17 lee bumgarner road Sylva, NC 28779
Email: gearmannc73@ gmail.com
I'll try to call you, about 1700-1800 and go over everything again and just as soon as you can tell me that you can if one or both just get me a number and I will pay you asap.
Thanks rick!! If you need to know anything during the day just let me know and I'll get right back with you. Thanks a bunch, Chris

Would you be interested in trading some wf carbs for 1 rebuild one?
