Debbie and I left SC Monday with 80* weather headed to the great northern mid west to roam around a bit.
Where in the hell does all this wind come from? I’ve got to keep my tanks full to be able to stay on the highway. Left front tire is on the center line and the rear right tire is on the shoulder. When I go past one of those big grain silos near the road it blocks the wind and the truck jumps onto the oncoming lane. LOL
We are in Iowa now. It’s raining, sleeting, and snowing. Suppose to snow tonight and in the morning. Glad I brought the long johns. May be in Nebraska this weekend, 20’s predicted. I luv it. Bill

Poor time of the year to head north 😂 You will discover Nebraska to be a place that should have been left to the natives, the wind comes from Wyoming and Nebraska sucks so it’s a bad combination 😬 Long Johns in April ?, you are from the south 😂 I don’t even bother with them at -20°… Well then wherever your headed I wish you safe travels, keep the rubber down 👍🏽

BT, what you need is this: RoadsideAmericaIt's an online link to all the tourist attractions that you can find while wandering around the US of A. So instead of hiding behind grain silos to get out of the wind, take a drive down the next county road and go see a covered bridge, or the biggest ball of yarn in the country, or someone's collection of old spoons. Who knows, you may find an interesting museum of old military vehicles somewhere out on the plains. There is one. In Nebraska. I've been there.

39° in Ponca this am..... heat wave. Thanks for the link Mike I will study it so I will know where not to go.. LOL We are headed to the woods on this trip. Last time I went to a military museum I came out of there all depressed..... lots of stuff I worked on was in there.Today we will enter SD around Yankton. Temps are going up. Haven’t seen any old Willys’s yet, I’ve been known to check out old back yards and barns. Lee I’m keeping my long johns in ‘ready-reserve’, trying to become acclimated.😉

Funny you should mention that Lee. We were out there a few years ago. I mentioned on this site where I was and had seen and took a pic of a red Jeep on a trailer being pulled by a truck with a camper. Got a hit on the post.... it was Oilly. What a coincidence.

Wish you were seeing it again. That would mean the fun season has begun.
Looks a bit wet starting tomorrow out this way. Not much happening here until the 15th of May. The Forest Service should open their gates to "their" property then.

Probably be doing dispersed camping for a while. A lot of the FS campgrounds are still closed. Tired of moving every day ready to settle down for a while.

A bit early here to camp. May need a snow shovel until after mothers day. Heat to keep your water fluid by morning also.

Never froze anything in the camper yet, been down to mid teens. Oilly does your weather generally follow Rapid City? Sure am glad the heavy winds has laid down. Will spend the night in Fort Pierre.

Pretty close. Sometimes a storm track stays north or south, but temps are close.

That may be the one m38mike mentioned. Any way we got there sooner than expected and moved on down the road. But thanks for the tip Lee much appreciated.

I believe the one Mike mentioned is on I80 in Nebraska, Lincoln or grand island area, I’ve never stopped as I’m always in a hurry to get out of Nebraska 😂 or it’s not open 😬 Lee😉
