Ok finally got to take the girl out for a long ride. At 50+ miles I filled up and checked mpg. Something wrong with math. Showed 4mpg. So took another 50+ ride and refilled. Now 11mpg. There was a problem with the brakes tightening up but was wondering am I close to average on mpg. Starts beautifully and idles a 800 nicely. Found what I feel is the sweet spot but maybe I'm off on something.

If you can get the idle RPM down to 650-700, you should see an improvement. You’re not that far off.

With the 87 octane with the ethanol treatment what is the best mpg I can look forward to?

If I tell you a number, please understand it comes from a best case scenario of vehicle, road, and weather conditions and, most importantly, driver technique . 18-22 MPG.

Pretty sure that ain't gonna happen. With the add one she's weighing in at 3200 and those tires aren't helping much either. But hope springs eternal. Thanks for the info

How did you end up with 3200 lbs curb wt on a 2A? Seems WAY on the heavy side.. X2, ? My 2A will run a consistent 20-22 mpg at 45 mph with OD, pushing it to 50 mph and it drops off to 16-20 mpg. Same situation without OD, 14-16 at 40-45 mph, drops off to 10-12 if pushing beyond 45 mph. This is on mn. roads. Lee

Had s rear wheel bearing fail that might have been causing the brake to drag. Will check it again after those repairs are made.
