A question for the Boss. Could a UH1 lift and transport a PBR fully loaded for ops? Attachments:

Looks like Hollywood is laying on the bullshit once again π¬
gross weight 9,039 lbs Empty. 5,210 lbs
so Iβm assuming around 4K on the hook on a good cool morningβοΈ Iβm betting the pair of 6V53 Detroits powering the PBR would eat up a good share of that on their own π¬

But i saw it in one of my favorite stories. location: Nung River Cambodia on the mission to terminate (with extreme prejudice) Col Walter E. Kurtz' command.

I thought I had answered this. Cold day. Short distance. Minimal aircrew. Minimal fuel. PBR? Empty of all equipment and fuel. The bird might still be be near max torque redline.

so it aint gonna happen as depicted in Apocolypse Now. Yes if it were a styrofoam model of a PBR, the Hollywood type π Go back a decade to the Mighty John Wayne classic βThe Green Beretβ Iβm pretty sure there was a scene in that classic where they airlifted a D4 cat into a fire base π Yes it happened, my old friend Gary told me so, but they brought them in in pieces and they spent the next week bolting them back together π As always, there is the Hollywood version and reality π. And a shout out to Robert DeNiro ππΏππΏππΏππΏππΏππΏππΏ Leeπ

As a "pity part", because he was having trouble finding work, DeNiro was supposed to play a role in a new Kevin Costner production. When Costner learned of the tantrum thrown by DeNiro he immediately cut him out of the movie.

took him to the "train station"? Iβve been watching that series, through season 4 at this point, very entertaining ππ½ Iβve spent some time on a few ranches and much like ferrying PBR,s under a Huey they portray a different life than the real one πππ Leeπ
