Hello Professor, Been away for a while starting at the rear bumper of my Wagon and working my way forward as time and circumstances have allowed. I'm ready to mount the carb and my question concerns the vacuum ports on the base of the YF. As you can see if I uploaded the photo correctly, the original gasket has left a witness mark (#2) where it sealed the port that is closest to the throat of the carb. The gasket provided the space needed for the other port (#1) to function. It was running good with this configuration way back when I took it apart so my first instinct is to put it back like it was and move on. Then my second thought is - the whole idea was to make this rig correct in all aspects to if this needs to be changed now is the time to do it. And so, What Say Ye? Run it or make a cut out on the gasket to accommodate the port closest to the carb opening. I'll be holding short till I get further instructions

OK, I think I have figured it out - the vacuum port (#2) that has been plugged in the past was for the vacuum accessories that are no longer needed (vacuum advance, wipers) so I'm good to go as is. I love it when this happens!
