Carburetor Restoration The basic deal is this. Assuming a complete, but tired, worn-out WO, YF, or YS I charge a flat rate of $162.25 for the rebuild/restore service.
I will install the finest quality Master Kit I can assemble. The prices will vary between $66.00 and $120.00.
I usually have to replace the Float Pin due to excessive wear. These are now included in my kits.
Throttle bushings are an additional repair and the service, including parts, is $44.00.
Throttle Shafts that are custom milled on-site are $77.00.
Missing linkage? $6.05-$30.25, depending on the piece. Need an Air Horn, Bowl Cover? $16.50 each. A Main Body/Bowl is $38.50 - $44.00.
Additional finishing (like paint) is time (My rate is $50.00 per hour) and materials. Cerakote™ is a flat rate of $66.55. You designate the finish.
You pay to ship both ways.
I will disassemble the carb and document its problems in a forensic report. I will send this report and the estimate to you for approval. I will then clean it thoroughly and then bead blast all pieces (unless you dictate otherwise). I can also polish the interior down to the venturi. Some folks prefer the old patina. I will do my best to save it if you desire. I will reassemble it to factory spec with new parts from the kit. I will take four photographs of it and forward them to you for your approval before any gasoline goes through it. I will test it thoroughly, and adjust it to optimum specs. The day I test it I will shoot and post a video of it operating and send you links to YouTube and the invoice, which includes secure links for payment and the video on YouTube (you'll be famous). A five to ten-business-day turnaround from the delivery time to me is usual unless additional services are requested or I am slammed.
OK. If you send me a worn-out yet complete WO, YF, or YS, you get it back in fresh condition, ready to install on your good motor. I accept All major Credit and Bank Debit cards or USPS Money orders. Personal checks are OK if you wait an additional 5 business days for check clearance.
WARRANTY: I give you a one year from the date of installation warranty on my work. It is assumed, however, that you will re-install the carburetor on a motor that is properly equipped, timed, and tuned, with an adequate, clean, and functioning air cleaner, a properly functioning heat riser, a clean and functioning PCV system, and a clean, fresh and filtered fuel source.
If you have a problem we can’t solve with direct communication, I will pay postage both ways to return it to me and I will fix the problem at no charge to you.

For many years now I have charged a flat rate fee for rebuild/restoration work. I’m sad to say this pricing policy must change.
Too often carbs sent to me have been neglected to the point that the brass valves and jets are frozen in place by corrosion. Or they are so contaminated by water or Ethanol Gas that clean up involves diluted acid to remove those contaminants.
I’m not blaming the guys or gals who send these carbs to me.
The procedures I rely on to remove frozen parts involve much more time and labor, as well as the risk of destruction of the threads in the passage. I always chase the threads of the passages, but usually, after I have removed the valve/jet. In the case of stuck pieces, I have to chase the threads twice. Before, for easier removal, and after removal.
Penetrating oil by itself may not work. I often must apply heat and other penetrating chemicals to help loosen the grip. In worst-case scenarios, I have to use the drill press to remove as much of the center of the valve/jet as I need to use an EZ Out. The setup for this is critical to the survival of the piece. Sometimes the corrosion is so bad that the piece will spin in the passage. When the situation becomes untenable for the continued use of the piece I must replace it. The problem is that good reusable parts are expensive and hard to come by these days.
As a result of my most recent encounter with this situation, I am forced to apply a minimum additional charge of one (1) hour’s labor - $50.00.

Hi,it was great talking to you. I was able to get both of the shafts out. The throttle shaft measured .3065 on one side, and .3085 on the other side. I tried to log in but I didn't received any return email for the "Key"? Thanks, Tim
