Let's start some dialog Scout. I'm thinking to come off my YS637 with a glass bowl filter. I know the purists will cringe but it's my M38. The in tank filter is functional and works well. I still find bits of debris, probably rust in my fuel bowl I expect from the fuel lines I reused. Pros/cons?? There's currently no real problem with the fuel system in my jeep-just like to play with cool stuff. Rick.

Yes, you're right the purists will pitch a mild fit. When they do, ask them who pays the bills for your M38. Also remind them that if and when you show it, non-correct items can be easily removed and re-installed at the end. I'm a firm believer in filtration in all the right places. If you have perused my offerings you know what I have. What were you thinking of in the way of a filter?

Was thinking of the type that mounts to the fuel bowl inlet. But wonder what disadvantage having the weight offset might cause.

There is no weight problem as long as the filter is mounted as straight and close to carb as possible and not on a long arm and 90º fitting that would screw out and leak due to vibratory leverage. Go here and look over what I have done. If weight is really a big concern, then I have the shorty Carters you see in the videos. If you can mount a filter close in and straight off, then you can use what you will see here when you scroll down to the other models. Colors available are Traditional Red, Buffed, Blasted (dull, flat), or Natural Patina. I can also do a custom Cerakote™ application for an additional fee.
