Yeah. Most blame the carburetor for everything because they don’t understand how it works. For that matter, since everything is computer controlled these days many don’t understand how a motor is a Rube Goldberg setup where every part affects every other part in some way. Famous last words…”But I bought new old stock!!!” Yup, NOS, and off of eBay

What I find a lot is 5/16" hose on 1/4" line, with 1/2" worm clamps. B-dubya

What I find a lot is 5/16" hose on 1/4" line, with 1/2" worm clamps. B-dubya Lol! Lately I've made it a point to flare the steel line where it transitions to a rubber fuel line.... Of course, there are those who remember, I drove some of johns run on a Jerry rigged rubber line after the flare failed by the carb... Lee, Bruce, John.... Etc. Very astute observations, I agree 100%! I've learned the hard way.

Oh..... To add to Lee's post... The six screws that hold the fuel pump halves together and sandwich the diaphragm also work loose. Just fixed mine

If you have a "old" pump, like me, and you buy a new napa, or car quest fuel pump, you can take the rubber parts and diaphram out and put it in the oldie!!!!! I've done it. i like it. Oilly
