Hi, I'm Baxter from Western PA. I've had Jeep Fever since I was 14 and got my first. Currently have an 83 CJ7 and just finishing up (are we ever finished) a 48 CJ2A. I call her Old Ruby. Did pretty much a ground up on her. Got it running and had a few little issues with the engine and carb. Have the carb being rebuilt here by Scoutpilot! And I'm doing an inframe valve job. Hopefully will have it on the road by spring! Im a member of the CJ2A page. I really appreciate all the info and help on these websites 😀 I'll add a picture when I find out how.

Figured out how to post the picture!! Hoping to get the valve seat grinder this week and finish the valve job. I was lucky enough to get my broken manifold stud out after much fenagling. Next project after this is rebuilding the three point hitch, PTO, and hydraulics!

Update on Old Ruby. Did the inframe three angle valve job. Put on my WO carb you rebuilt. Added the nice inline glass bowl filter and new line. Cranked her over and fuel was leaking at glass bowl. Put a new cork gasket in and still leaks. Double checked that surfaces were clean and retightened bowl. No better...so took off new line and filter and put on Old line w/ inline new filter. Started her up. Had to adjust the idle mixture screw out another 3/4 turn and she runs great (with choke off--yeah!). Can't believe how nice and quiet the engine runs now. Thanks for the good job!

The bowl. I'm going to try another cork gasket. The new ones I bought are about a 16th inch smaller OD and only half as thick as the original. I have some cork gasket mtl and will make a couple and retry. I sure like the look of the glass bowl style! **Also I don't have the icon showing to add a picture..
