On my way home from the vampire, just past Jackson's Corner on our 2 lane hwy30 I notice a mile out the oncoming PU hugging the center line, no big deal.. half mile out he's straddling the line, quarter mile out he's staring me down in my lane... will he correct? I'm not waiting to find out, I start a hard left across the hwy onto the gravel lot the county has their cinder piles on. He flew past on my rt, took out a row of rural mailboxes then centerpunched a tree as wide as the GMC he was driving, stopped that pickup cold.. I ran over, the driver's door had come open but wedged, he was pinned by the airbag.. a couple of tugs on the door and a poke to the airbag with my folding knife and I could get to some of the junk that flew forward and had his legs bound up. About that time he came to and wanted to know what happened. The gentleman apparently had a medical episode or something.. soon the paramedics showed up and Charlie, Jimmy and me headed home for a much needed change of shorts.. Not today friends, it just was not my time to go..

Wow! that's enough excitement for a month right there. Goodonya for paying attention. I'm very glad that you're safe. I hope the accident driver will get some treatment for what ever it was that affected him.
Wow, and I mean wow. Glad you didn't have him swerve back into you as you turned to miss him. That's what always worries me when playing chicken. Kinda luck of the draw. Sorry for the victim. He is in for medical cost, emergency cost, and the loss of his vehicle. At least he lives. Both of you surviving is a good thing and he is lucky you helped him. Thumbs up to you Muley.

I hate walking up to a steaming beat up wreck that just happened. Sometimes a bad outcome. You get a bit shaky. At least I do. The ones I've seen were well supported to the point of amazing. Fire fighter, nurse, doctor that stopped at the scene.
Usually is caused by a heath problem, wind, going too fast, mechanical failure. Or a distraction. Wildlife -----------oooh la la.
Watching it happen in slo-mo, while you're in it, trying to run from it while wearing lead boots..Bad dream for sure. I woke up last nite remembering that I used the gentleman's c-phone to call his son on the speed dial, Shit I hope he did not have the C-one-niner..

64cj5: Did not make the trip to six mile yesterday. Got it done to day. A beautiful day for a Jeep ride in the hills. Elk, deer, blue birds, meadow larks, squirrels and chip monks got our attention. Had a nice lunch and then down a road less traveled to home.
