Looking at repairing or replacing the body next summer, though not sure which route to go. The body isn’t in great shape, what’s not shown in the pictures is that most of the floor under the driver seat is also gone as well as other significant holes. The first picture shows some of the gap below/behind the driver seat. Yes that is astro-turf in the upper picture that is screwed into the floor, no I didn't add it. The guy absolutely tried to cover the holes up with turf and mats, that just made things worst in the end. I haven’t touched a welder since 2012 and have 0 welding ability. I know the Juan tubs are terrible and aren’t fitted corrected at all. However, the willys-overland replitubs that are the corrected Juan bodies cost about the same. Looking for some thoughts on the matter.

Since you say you won't be doing the welding, then you are forced to replace. Some of the MD Juan stuff works, but not much. Things like glass not fitting the windshield, windshield not fitting the tubs or brackets not lining up, a corrected tub that you mention would save you from that. They will eventually work for you but at quite the cost. Shipping added in puts you in the 4-5 thousand dollar area is my guess. That's not painted. Cheap tractor paint or the military drab colors are very reasonable. Automotive quality paint is astronomical. My thought is to find another Jeep that has a good usable body . Maybe one that isn't selling because of no title, or bad engine. The bonus is you have extra parts and more bang for the buck. Resale of original stuff is better also. A repro is just that and doesn't sell as easy.
There are companies selling floors and metal replacement panels here in the states that are quality. If you have the desire to learn, you could fix yours and learn a new skill and end up with a nice welder for less money, but the labor will be intensive. The best way to replace the tub parts is body off and upside down. That means a garage or place to do it, grinders, cutters, clamps, etc. with allot of test fitting before welding. Rust stops most welding so that means blasting and cleaning.
Other Jeeps are out there. Ebay, craigslist, Search Tempest, Google, CJ2A Page, and even dealers. I've seen no title Jeeps for sale at Midwest Military when he does a buy out of a collectors estate. Lots of possibilities. You can run a free add -----looking for Cj2A body. Keep looking. The search is actually fun. treasure hunting. I had a M38 that had a body so far gone it needed half of it replaced to fix it also. I stumbled on to a original body tub with no rust and got it for 250.00 on ebay!!!!!!!!!!! Take your time and one will surface.
All of these Jeep chat sites will let you post adds for free, so I'd start there. You never know. Good luck. Oilly

64cj5: Did not make the trip to six mile yesterday. Got it done to day. A beautiful day for a Jeep ride in the hills. Elk, deer, blue birds, meadow larks, squirrels and chip monks got our attention. Had a nice lunch and then down a road less traveled to home.
