A good friend owns the local mom and pop grocery here. He knows everyone in town and has dedicated his life, as did his dad before him, to serving this small community. Sunday I stopped in for a few things, Kyle and I lamented the lack of goods on the shelves, his wholesalers are cutting his orders, he feels he is letting his regulars down. He also mentioned he had noticed unfamiliar faces in the store in the last week but being a friendly town he paid no mind to it. As we were finishing up our visit he just lost it and hollers "wait just a damned minute" and approaches a guy with a cart full of the essentials. You're not from around here he says, you loaded up in here Wednesday, you were here again on Friday and now on Sunday and i'll invite you to leave that cart right there and leave my store. Sure enuf the back of the guy's minivan was full of plunder.
It’s bad here too.... I understand the need to keep a basic supply of essentials, but to the ones hoarding for the sake of profiteering, and preventing the ones who need from procuring the said essentials. I HOPE YOU CHOKE ON YOUR DANM CHARMIN, ASSHOLE.
This hoarding nonsense is out of control. I wondered if it were also affecting smaller communities.
We were due for our bi-monthly weekend trip to gather supplies (Murdochs, Costco, Home Depot, etc. ). We normally pick up horse feed for our old horses at Murdoch's. There was plenty for the horses, but I also frequently buy a box of ammo... just cuz. There wasn't a single box of 9mm ammo. The Murdoch's guy said it was the 'toilet paper' of the ammunition world. Go figure.
Feel the Bern!! I wonder if this is what Socialism is like? Kind of seems like it!
My wife got home from Walmart yesterday all pissed off. She said people are stupid. There were people wearing bandannas, mask and rubber gloves. Others were arguing over cold meds. The check out gal told her that they sold out of 600 pulpwood bundles in less than an hour.

Went to the store after work, my Monday routine and was shocked at the nearly bare shelves, I was in the freezer section and a gal told me the last 2 places she was in had nothing in the freezers 😮 they had what I needed 👍🏽
Not sure if I will have a job by Friday, the city of Rochester may send their employees home, that would include our inspectors so that sends our people home as well, our other projects will most likely be the same!....
Forgive your enemy, but remember the bastards name. (Scottish proverb)
Bad roads lead to great stories! 😉 Common Trailer Trash 😁
I feel badly for the working couple who live paycheck to paycheck and can barely afford to stockpile anything. Now the hoarders have descended on the stores and the couple can't find what they need to get by until the next paycheck. And BTW they were both just suspended from their jobs for the next month, so now they have lots of time, but no money coming in. Those are the folks who will really suffer in this crisis. And for any of you who are still working, I pray that your jobs will continue.
I feel glad that Nancy and I have been prepping for something like this over the past few years. Except for canned veggies, we're good to go for a long time. But if this pandemic drags on long enough I'll be able to give you all a report on how well the chinese toilet paper works. The last time I was in Asia, the TP still had bits of wood in the TP that you could see. We had to be careful wiping or we'd get a sliver in our butts.
I've been thinking the same. Trickle down affect. The only good part is all are in the same boat. I hope creditors will cut people some slack, but will the banks foreclose and the boss fire people due to this? Not funny. True colors of the people around you are about to be exposed.
Rabbit fur in the trees huh Lee? Very resourceful.
I'm glad I'm not a New Yorker that buys his supper while on foot headed home from one high rise to another. No stock to fall back on, no wood pile, no wildlife to shoot for food in a emergency, no nothing. And they think we are in the Wilderness. it's they who are in it.
My wife also went to wallyworld yesterday when she got home she said the same thing shacks lovely bride said. I got an email from a discount ammunition seller stating that 9mm, 5.56 & 7.62 ammunition was on backorder expect delays. I don’t know what any of that means, and don’t know where they got my email address.
