Bought and installed a complete kit. Drilled out for new bushing using correct bit. Lasted a month and rear bushing blew out. Can't find just bushings anywhere. With shipping we are talking close to 40 bucks to get another kit for just one bushing. Anybody have one to sell or know the proper dimensions so I might be able to fan one up?

Sorry dude, can’t help you find a bushing.... I tried when I went through the same crap last year. Had to buy another kit, and this time, staked the new bushings in place....... multiple times, with an old tap.

Please explain stake with tap Staking.... placing a dimple in the cast iron of the manifold very close to the brass bushing, which causes the soft iron to slightly expand into the brass, just enough to hold it in place. A sharp center punch would work, but I had an old, dull starter tap with a sharp point handy on the work bench. It doesn’t take a molly whop to do it, just a small tap from a ball peen, as long as your point is sharp. Fwiw, I’m not sure you could get a new bushing in the manifold with the butterfly shaft installed, I had to cut it out and replace it when I repaired mine for the second time, after reaming out the new bushing.

The brand new omix ada manifolds that don't fit (Imagine that) have the same problem with bushings moving out. Maybe MD Juan makes them? ? bolt holes are probably too small for the stock bolts eh?

Funny you should mention that.... Just finished up installing one of those on the old man’s 2a. It was fun! First, had to do the ole “gasket match” port job, then had to slot the intake/exhaust mating surface bolt holes with a rat tail file to compensate for a 0.030 misalignment. Then they didn’t clock heat riser shaft correctly when they welded it in from the factory. But, so far now issues since install.

I know this is late to the party, but I've had good success with calling Walcks and seeing if they sell parts of a kit, and not just the whole kit. Just because it is not advertised as such on their website doesn't mean they won't do it! In particular, I bought a set of heat riser brass bushings from them, didn't need the whole kit. Just had to call and ask.
