On my M38A1 I have an inline plastic cased fuel filter. I like the look of the ones with a glass bowl that mount to the carb's inlet. What design is the most practical? I have seen the Skinner, AC DELCO, Wix etc. and I know some of these are no longer available. What would be the ideal setup?

-Your choice will be dictated by the fuel line system you have in place. All steel? All rubber? A combination of both? What size tube?

Currently 3/8's steel. I am running a Solex which came on the engine and has no filter installed. I have a Carter WO which I will ask Rick to rebuild. The filter will go on this carb. I think the fuel line for it would be 5/16" steel.

Gotcha! In that case, the Ceramic filter, at the carburetor is the best. I, myself, run a second filter, a tube-type, in-the-line ceramic, between the tank and pump.
