The steps look too well done for Bubba to have had anything to do with it.. This was with the jeep pile I scored last winter.

Not stock! But is an ingenious piece of work. It restricts the repositioning of the ball mount, which I would most certainly reverse so the ball is higher. I don't recall seeing any trailer with the ball receiver that low! Maybe a little low for mounting the Gerry cans too! LOL Would be a conversation starter for sure!

Original hitch and ball bracket, but the side diamond plates are all Bubba. The ball bracket can be played with for trailer tongue height based on the trailer and lift of the vehicle. Up, down, above and below the original hitch. My CJ2A has rancho lift springs on it so I have my hitch down like that. The rock crawler guys remove the entire hitch usually. They end up standing the Jeep on the lifted spare tire on the rear allot. Watching the Moab guys will show you that. Roll overs and end overs are common. Not my cup of tea. The person who modified your hitch had a use or reason for the steps. Maybe to hay with or passengers to get in the rear? ?? if you don't want the steps, you're gonna do some serious grinding. He welded the bull pucky of of it.
