I figured it would be a good time to start to work on the exhaust manifold I procured from Sir Lee last June.... Disassembly of heat riser and removal of broken stud First round of brazing a replacement ear on the flange... A co worker suggested using the fish cooker for pre and post heat, works pretty well! Don't know if it's really needed for just brazing or not, but I'm erring on the side of caution.

This is pretty cool. So is the 2nd picture the post heat treatment?
Ive never seen or done this before. When you actually brazed, the manifold was not sitting in the fish cooker flames?

I'm just flying by the seat of my pants on this one..... I put the manifold on the burner, when the runners farthest away from the flame became way too hot to grab, I pulled it off the burner and started to braze a little at a time. Then, put it back on the burner to equalize the heat, so to speak.

Professor, the type of repair your doing is not a critical area, preheat as you are, braze it together and cool it down slowly, it will be fine, I'd add a little extra brass so you can file it flat after it cools!.
