If when you measure and find say you are 20/64. when you bend the rod should you measure the rod tip to tip and bend the 3/64 to make up the correct length or can you only measure at the accelorator pump?

Second questio. you extend the rod if the accelerator pump is less than 17/64 and visa versa?

Extending the rod will lower the top limit of travel for the accelerator pump. Due to the geometry of the mechanism it will also shorten the stroke. Simply bend it. No real measurement can be taken to assist as no two rods are exactly the same overall length. Hope this helps.

Scout is out of town. Let me jump in here and say NO to sealants of any kind on int/exh mannys, NO to sealants from the carb to int manny. You do in fact have the thick carb/manny gasket with the V type diffuser correct? Good!! Be sure to squash the copper bolt bushings real well (if your gasket is so equipped) to be sure of a tight seal..
