I seem to be getting some movement in the area that the throttle linkage assy (side of carb) that prevents the throttle from closing all the way. I have the return spring in place, and tension here is not the issue. It will only return if I push on the steel stop screw. Everything appears tight, but I've not had it apart yet. Any ideas?
Here's a video:

Nevermind, throttle linkage to bellcrank was on backwards.

Had me worried for a little bit there. Glad you found the problem.

Yeah it threw me for a loop lol. I bit off a bit too much during this last project lol. One project turned into probably 10 and I was omitting some details (clutch disc in backwards and now this...granted the clutch wasn't as quick of a fix!)

That is what happens all to often. You know you have a fix to make. You take that part/piece off and you find something else and say to yourself those fateful words, “Well, while I’ve got it open, I might as well…”

Reminds me of the fellows who make the easy mistake of bolting the throttle linkage pivot for the gas petal on the rear of the block backwards or upside down. Sad news to discover after the engine is installed. Lots of oh crap things to learn. No pain, no gain. I hurt alot. Oilly
