You may need a screwdriver to hold the internal arms up.

You may need a screwdriver to hold the internal arms up. the internal arms ? oh boy. the bottom diaphragm is off. it has a square hole in it at the top of the shaft. the top diaphragm that has spring tension on it is still on. so the top should just twist off ? as I turn left loosey it gets easy and hard to turn ? the pump paul had for sale on the east coast willys f.b. page is looking better and better.
I did read the directions on the link above this post it helped some what the two arms same pin has me a bit off. other then pics, I don't know the names of the parts.

There are three arms inside. One holds the fuel diaphragm and two hold the vacuum diaphragm. Press down deep and twist either way.

Assuming you are going to rebuild it yourself, you will receive oil seals with the new kit. There is no need for you to mess with the pin, the ends of which are visible on either side of the main body, in line with the external pump arm. So just keep twisting/pulling up. You'll get it!

Whats the odds I brake something ? slim, 50/50, or oh it's you, you had best put it down ?? going to work now, so me do some pulling tues am.

The diaphragm shown is the square keyhole. What does the other look like? Often it's different.

OK. It doesn't screw in. Use a narrow blade screwdriver to hold the arm up as you are pressing down, angling the shaft away from the arm. Twist either way and it should unhook.

Twist either way and it should unhook. when you say hold up the arm ? do you mean the arm that rides on the cam in the motor ? as for the angling and pulling that's how the other diaphragm came out.
I got my carb for a 6 pack. the carb numbers are a70 735sa the top is a tad different
and the needle is much different too
so any thought can I just trade the tops ? i'd had to brake a screw off trying to swap choke levers again
thanks brian
