I am an old Willys nut who left Willys society for a short while (like a decade or so), but I am now working on my 1950 Willys Jeepster (bone stock with a 161 L-head 6 cylinder engine and a 6V system) which I have owned since 1970. I am all fired up to give it a complete restoration, but when I went to my old online haunt WillysTech, I found just pieces of it online (like the empty online Parts Board). I've searched for it with Google but no luck. Was there finally a fatal revolt between the stock & modified groups that did it in?
I would appreciate any help in locating it, or whatever it morphed into.
Thanks for your quick reply. Do you by chance have the 148 or 161 cu inch 6 cylinder Lightning engine in your Jeepster? I am trying to get information on what original parts my fuel system and ignition system should have.
I appreciate your info on the Old Willys Forum. I tried to go to it but I got this message: "This server could not prove that it is its security certificate is not trusted by your computer's operating system. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection."
I tried going to it with another computer but got the same warning. Would you mind pasting a link here for the address you use to get to the site?
