Those guys were nuts. If it looks fast in the video, it was. I think Breedlove lost his chute and ended up in a water pool cause he couldn't get stopped in time. There is a video on youtube about Bluebird and a Brit who died doing water speed records. They searched the lake and finally found what was left of him. They built a replica boat and went back out and ran it. Probably not too bright.
I once "flew" a Triumph Bonneville through the air at 55 mph. Totaled the bike, broke my arm, busted my Bell Star racing helmet, and knocked my lungs flat as a pancake. I remember listening to Dolly Pardon coming up the road playing from the speakers of a Honda Goldwing. I thought--------Next time, follow the Honda.
